In the early Fifties, a Park Avenue psychiatrist is presented with a case in very mysterious circumstances. His patients, a husband & wife, believe they are Adolf Hitler & Eva Braun. They are not, of course, but as their treatment continues, strange facts are brought to the surface concerning government activities during the war. The psychiatrist is young & successful, married to a psychologist, & has two children. The reader is given an accurate portrait of NYC at that time. As the story unfolds, secrets are uncovered that the government does not want brought to light. The patients are cured, but the psychiatrist & his family pay dearly for his patients' recovery. The book might be termed a psychological thriller, but it also reaches for a broader profile of what we, as Americans, have become, & why.

Warren Commission Report is the result of the investigation regarding the assassination of United States President John F. Kennedy. The U.S. Congress passed Senate Joint Resolution 137 authorizing the Presidential appointed Commission to report on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, mandating the attendance and testimony of witnesses and the production of evidence. After eleven months of the investigation the Commission presented its findings in 888-page final report. The key findings presented in this report were that President Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald, that Oswald acted entirely alone and that Jack Ruby also acted alone when he killed Oswald two days later. The Commission's findings have proven controversial and have been both challenged and supported by later studies.

The year is 2350. Earth is in the Planetary Alliance with aliens who claim to be our creators. But not everybody agrees with the new doctrine. Starship Scorpius is sent to explore space in search of advanced extraterrestrial technologies that will give us an advantage over our alien allies. The battle for supremacy begins here… On its mission to deep space, United Starmarine starship Scorpius arrives on the Delta Moon. Scans reveal atmospheric anomalies on the surface. First Commander Sy Race and Cadet Maya Scott fly to the surface to explore. Scott and Race discover a graveyard of ships hidden in a volcanic cave to be the cause of the anomalies. Upon closer inspection, they discover the fragments of the Explorer shuttle, a United Starmarine vessel that disappeared twenty years earlier when it collided with a black hole. Have they discovered the first known wormhole in the First Quadrant? STARSHIP SCORPIUS SERIES is infused with aliens, AIs, ghosts, starships, high-tech, mysterious space phenomena, battles for life and death, and the central question of what it means to be an individual within the collective—human and alien—in the galaxy of the 24th century.

To Bruce Goldstein-an edgy, twenty-something New Yorker trying to make his mark in advertising-just waking up in the morning was an ordeal. Underemployed and recently dumped, he was well into the downward spiral of bipolar disorder. Even with therapy, lithium, Paxil, Wellbutrin, and Prozac, he could not shake his rapid mood swings, his fear of dying, or the voice of Satan, who first visited him one sunny day in Central Park. Then came Ozzy, a black Labrador pup (named after metal's "Prince of Darkness") who leads Bruce toward recovery through complete, canine dependence. From the depths of his despair to a life remade, Bruce shows how learning to care for, train, and love the hilariously loyal Ozzy provided him with the structure and focus he needed to heal.

This book is an anthology of spoken narratives collected from male-to-female transgendered people who live on the island of O‘ahu. In this book, people who identify as “mahu” (the local term for a transgendered person), transsexual, and/or drag queen tell their stories and address the issues important in their lives. They talk about gender identity and sexuality; coming out to their families; familial acceptance and rejection; going to school; surviving on the streets; transitioning to womanhood; finding a romantic partner; spirituality and religion; Hawaiian culture; growing old, and much more. The transgender communities on O‘ahu are extensive and rich with diversity. Nevertheless, the general public typically views transgendered people in one-dimensional, stereotypical terms, often as prostitutes or sexual deviants. This collection will increase the visibility of transgenderism, and educate readers by giving transgendered people the opportunity to speak for themselves. Its contributors are of a variety of ages, and backgrounds. Not only do the powerfully moving narratives in ‘‘O Au No Keia reveal what it is like to be transgendered, they also illuminate what this means in the unique cultural context of Hawai‘i. On the one hand, this state has the reputation of being extremely accepting of those who are transgendered, as well as of those who are gay and lesbian. Indeed, it is reported that transgenderism and bisexuality were accepted in traditional Hawaiian society. On the other hand, much of Hawai‘i’s population is devoutly Christian, and the gay marriage bill was decisively defeated in 1999. Through their stories, the contributors — some of whom were born and raised here in Hawai'i, and some of whom came to O‘ahu later in life — reflect on the intersection between tolerant native Hawaiian values and condemning Western ones, and how that has affected their lives in a place many outsiders consider “paradise.”
